OUR PHILANTHROPY
Alpha Gamma Delta was the first sorority to establish an international philanthropy! Our philanthropy has changed many times throughout the years, but it has always had a primary focus on children.
- 1919-> A summer camp for underprivelaged children was staffed by Alpha Gam undergrads and alumni
- 1947-> Our philanthropy was aimed at the National Society for Crippled children and adults
- 1964-> Children with minimal brain dysfunction
- -> 1979-present-> the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
- <1990>The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation was established. The foundation makes grants of a charitable, educational, and literary means. Scholarships are also available.
The Sigma Chapter held their Second Annual philanthropic event, "Alpha Gamma Delta Water Wars". After instituting it last year and having such a great success, it was made an annual event. This afternoon event teamed up 12 fraternities and sororities acroos campus as they battled it out in water games such as slip-n-slide relays, squirt gun battles, ans water balloon fights. Prizes from sponsering community businesses were awarded to the winning pair. Domino's Pizza was there to feed alll the hungry participants. The Sigma's raised $2,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, which was an increase from the funds last year.
