UNDERSTANDING CURRENT RACE/EDUCATIONAL PROBLEMS
Sociology has many parts in which race, gender, culture, and relations are concerned. The purpose of this class is to make students, like yourself open up to these aspects. In today's world it is not only helpful but almost necessary to understand all types of individuals.
The FOCUS of this class is to understand the problems that students like yourself will face BOTH in college and work.
Understanding Current Race/Educational ProblemsWill help you understand inequalities among minorities in both High School and College. It will help you understand what Affirmative Action is and how it has affected minorities both in the schools and work place. Current issues regarding Affirmative action will be addressed including what has been going on in California and what might happen in other states including New York.
