After I left college, I first went to the KK railway station... and so on. (I think I'll skip this part; probably not relevant!) Anyway, I did go back to Sultan Ismail College, Kelantan "for further studies" as announced by Jed in the prep school dining hall during one of the dinners (or was it lunch? Pope please confirm! May or June 1970). Later, I decided to join our friends in Brighton. So I applied for TNB scholarship (March 1971) and was called for an interview by Malayan Railways. During the Interview I was asked what I would like to do and I told them "Mechanical Engineering!" This was followed by a series of question relating to mechanical engineering which I felt I answered quite well. I was confident that I would get the scholarship. Two weeks later I got the reply!... I was offerred to do "Electrical Engineering".
Later in life when I told my wife about it, she said, "this can only happen to you!"
