(Ambystoma maculata)
Information
The spotted salamander is a mole salamander, and are largely terrestrial
salamanders
they do however enter the water to soak and to mate, breed and
to deposit
their eggs. They requires a large semi-aquatic aquarium with deep
water and a
land side. They prefer cooler temperatures 60 to 70 degrees F.
They can live up to 18 years.
Breeding and Mating
When they breede they produces two to three clumps of 20 to 75
eggs
that must be separated from the adults for incubation and hatching.
