I.     OBJECTIVE

Looking for a middle management level position in the IT industry, which offers me opportunities to perform and improve my skills and thus, further my career.



II.    CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

1. CMC LIMITED (22 months)             May 1997 – to date

Joined CMC from campus (International Management Institute) and currently working as Senior Executive - International Business Development in the Ports & Cargo Group (P&C) at CMC Centre, Hyderabad reporting to Deputy General Manager – International Operations.

Responsibilities include
# Technical front-ending / Business Development of P&C Group’s Port Automation Solutions for Container Terminals and Conventional Cargo Terminals
# Project Management (Coordination, schedules, project plans, reports, formats etc.)
# Region wise market planning, proposal preparation and client servicing/account management.
# Project-wise plans on effort estimation, pricing, solution design and schedules.
# Promotion planning, prospecting and initiating tie-ups & partnerships in various countries.
# Understanding and mapping of the various business processes in the P&C domain (operations, planning, interfaces, hardware etc.) with CMC solutions.
 
Recently bagged a turnkey software contract worth USD 11 million for automating Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia. CMC will be the prime contractor integrating the MACH solution with various components including hardware, system software, networking, gate automation, administrative systems and radio data terminals.

 
 2. WIPRO LIMITED (21 months)              October 1993 - June 1995
 
 Joined Wipro (formerly known as Wipro Infotech Ltd.)  from campus (College of Engineering, Trivandrum) as Dealer Management Executive in the Business Solutions Division reporting to Regional Channel Sales Manager in the Cochin Area Office.
 
Responsibilities included
# Sole responsible for achieving company targets for the channels division in Kerala
# Aiding dealers in working capital management, improving marketing systems and operations.
# Recruitment & training of dealers and their marketing personnel and implementing as well as monitoring market development & promotional activities
# Inventory control of the local warehouse to manage continually falling prices and product obsolescence.
# Account Management functions included establishing the Infochannel concept for managing medium-scale accounts in Cochin.

During 1994-95, I set out to achieve sales of Rs. 41 million and accomplished Rs. 52 million for the Kerala Value Dealer Channel of the BSD.
 

3. SILICON GRAPHICS SYSTEMS (I) PVT. LTD. (2 months)   May - June, 1996

Worked as a Management Trainee in the Education & Research (E&R) Division at Silicon Graphics, New Delhi reporting to National Sales Manager – E&R.

As a trainee, I did a study on RISC-based computing in the E&R segment of the Information Technology industry for my Summer Project. The scope included buying behavior, buyer perceptions, demand patterns and industry segment-wise studies.
