VEGETABLE SOUP

Cook a chuck roast and a piece of beef Suet. Remove the suet and cut up the lean meat in the broth. Add 1 quart of tomatoes and 1 quart tomato juice. Cube onions, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and celery and add to pot. Add enough water to cook vegetables and make sufficient fluid. You may want more tomato juice. My family is more partial to "flavorful fat" than some people, but this is the way we have grown up with it. This is the way Gramma Blake, Gramma Cooper and Mama Roxie made it. If you miss peas, corn, and greenbeans, it's because we prefer to eat them some other way.
