SOUR DOUGH BREAD

Put initial starter into refrigerator 3-5 days. Remove from refrigerator.
Feed:

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup warm water
3 T instant potatoes

Mix well before adding to starter. Let complete mixture stay out of refrigerator all day (8-12 hours). This will bubble. After standing take out 1 cup to use in making bread and return remaining starter to await next feeding time (3-5 days). If not making bread after feeding take out the cup anyway, and either give it away or throw it away. Of course, you can start another jar for someone else. Keep starter in quart Jar with a few holes punched in the lid.

RECIPE:

3 tablespoons sugar (1 or none)
1 cup starter
1-1/2 cups warm water
1/2 cup oil
6 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt

Mix. Grease top and bottom. Cover bowl with foil. You may wish to make it at night and let it sit out all night. The next morning make into three loaves of bread after kneading. Loaves take several hours to rise. Bake at 350 degrees from 30-45 minutes. Dough makes delicious rolls and cinnamon rolls.

STARTER

3 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup warm water
2/3 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons potato flakes

Let sit out all day; refrigerate for 2-5 days. Take out; feed again with water, sugar and potato mixture, and let sit out all day or overnight. It is then ready for use.
