Praline Pecan Crunch

1 16 oz. Pkg. Cereal (Corn Chex or Crispex)
2 C pecan pieces
½ C light corn syrup
½ C firmly packed brown sugar
½ stick margarine
1 tsp  vanilla
½ tsp baking soda

Heat oven to 250 degrees.  Combine cereaal and nuts in large baking dish
At least 13”x9”.  Set aside.  Combine syrup, brown sugar and  margarine in a 2 cup microwavable bowl.  Microwave on high  1-1/2 minute; stir.  Microwave on high  again until boiling (1/2 to 1-1/2 minutes).  Stir in vanilla and soda and pour over cereal and nuts.  Stir to coat evenly.  Bake 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.  Spread on waxed  paper to cool.  Cook and separate the pieces.  Store in an airtight container.  Makes 10  cups.  Source: Margaret Glass
