2 c oleo
2 c brown sugar
2 c w sugar
2 t vanilla
6 c oats
4 eggs
3 c flour
2 t baking powder
2 t salt
1-1/2 c coconut
Cream oleo and sugars until fluffy; add vanilla. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and coconut. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes.
CREAM FILLING
In saucepan cook until thick, 5 T flour and 1 c milk. Cover and refrigerate until cool. In small mixing bowl, blend 1 c Crisco, 1 c+2T sugar, 1/2 t salt, and 1 t vanilla. Add chilled paste 1 T at a time. Beat until smooth and not grainy. Spread between cakes.
