HAND DIPPED CANDIES
The following can all be dipped in Summer coating (chocolate bought
at specialty store) or a combination of 1 pkg chocolate chips, 2 T oleo,
and 1 t wax, melted in a double boiler over
hot boiling, water. Either dip with hands or with knitting
needle and place on waxed paper.
COCONUT BONBONS:
3/4 c light corn syrup
2-1/2 c dry macaroon coconut
In a small pan, heat the corn syrup to a boil Then add coconut and thoroughly mix, then set aside for 1 hr so the coconut will becoime well saturated with the corn syrup. Roll into balls and set aside for an hour or two before dipping.
PEANUT BUTTER BONBONS
1 ole
2# powdered sugar
2 T canned milk
3 heaping T peanut butter
1 t vanilla
Mix, well and set aside 1 hr before dipping.
CHERRY-NUT BONBON OR EASTER EGG
1 stick oleo
1# powdered sugar
2 c flaked coconut
1/4 c chopped marashino cherries
2 c chopped nuts
1 t vanilla
Blend well and chill for several days. Shape and dip.
