2 c sugar
1 c buttermilk
1 c shortening
3 c flour
4 eggs
1/2 t soda
2 t vanilla
1 t salt
2 t butter flavoring
1 pkg German chocolate
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flavors, and buttermilk. Sift together flour, soda, salt and baking powder and add. Add Berman chocolate that has been softened in warm oven or double boiler. Blend together well. Cook in 9" tube pan that has been well greased and dusted with flour. Cook about 1-1/2 hours at 300 degrees. Test for doneness with a toothpick. Place cake under a tight fitting cake cover while still hot, and leave covered till cold.
