1 c shortening
1/2 tsp salt
1 c brown
2 eggs
1 c white sugar
2 c rolled oats
2 c flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda
1 pkg chocolate chips
1/2 tsp baking powder
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla. Add flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add oats, then chips. Drop on greased sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Variations. Use butter-scotch chips. Add 1/2 cup coconut and 1-1/2 oats
instead of 2 c oats.
