COTTAGE SAUCE

    1 cup milk
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 t nutmeg

    1 cup water
    2  T flour

    4 T butter

    Place milk and water in saucepan. Blend sugar, flour and nutmeg
    together and add to liquid mixture. Cook until thick. Remove
    from heat and stir in butter. Do not cook further. Serve hot.
    Traditionally served over 1-egg cakes. Source: Bea Spaniol (This
