BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES

1/4 Cup butter
1 Cup flour
1 Cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 Cup nuts

Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat, blend in brown sugar. Cool. Stir in egg. Sift together dry ingredients and mix with other mixture. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread in well greased 8 inch square, pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
Note. This is what won Tom's heart.
