The White Slut quickly hid herself behind one of the computer consoles and watched. The Manlger rounded a corner that she hadn't noticed before. "That must be the way to the exit," said the White Slut to herself. She didn't have any more time to wonder about the exit, however, because the Mangler didn't enter the room alone. It was soon followed by two rather arrogant looking figures. The White Slut was shocked. Neither of these villains had half the intelligence of a small beetle. There was no way they had revived the virus, so they must have been partners of the original Androgynous Boy, and no one realized it at the time. The White Slut was now truly intrigued, and even more enraged. "Well," said CA Powertrip, "things aren't going exactly as planned, but we will soon have Cape scared enough to accept my plan for marshall law, with me as capable leader, of course." "Yes, although I'm amazed anyone needs to be convinced of the need for your guidance, I don't know where I would be without it," said LapDog. "I'm going to hurl," thought the White Slut. "I wonder if there is any new info on the computer scanners," stated CA Powertrip to no one in particular. "Let me check," eagerly offered LapDog. "First," said Powertrip, "let's download the new info from the Mangler's day out and see what it's been up to..." ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/08 15:23 by JY01STU >:: Vacuum boy The walls have ears, bitch!!! At that moment the White Slut sprung into action. She jumped out of her hiding place and attacked the two villains ferociously. CA Powertrip and Lapdog were completely taken by surprise by the White Slut's violent onslaught. The Slut tore CA Powertrip's spine out and wrapped it around the Lapdog's throat, choking him to death. she then turned toward the Mangler and reared back ready to continue with the slaughter. "Come on, you mechanical murderer! Take your best shot!" she cried from a fighting stance. the Mangler said to her. "What?" the White Slut cried, surprisedly. "did you call me mom?" "WHAT?" the Mangler said to her. "but how are you still alive?" the White slut asked. it said happily. "But, son!" said the White Slut. "Why have you been killing people?" said the little tyke. "What about the baby Manglers?" she asked. "And these two villains? they said they were using you to plan world domination or something?" "So what now?" the White Slut asked. and so they did. Minutes later, the White Slut and the little tyke, in his new body, which was built like a robot until the legs, where it resembled the Magler's thrashing arms, were leaving the cave only seconds before it exploded. The two of them together started a long walk back into town to the comic shop where the rest of the heroes were last located. ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/08 19:41 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Another proud member of Gamma Delta Iota... When they arrived, oddly enough, the heroes were still standing there in confusion. They were huddled around Ken (he was in the middle, kind of like in a trust fall exercise, in case he feinted, again). "We've been here awhile," said the Progger. "Yeah," said the Hunter, "but that's just because we have no idea what to do..." At that moment they heard the arrival of the Little Tyke Bot and the White Slut (due to his legs, the Tyke Bot sounded a lot like the Mangler). "Another Mangler with the White Slut," screamed VacuumBoy as he went for the hand held. "No!" yelled the White Slut as she jumped between VacuumBoy and the Tyke Bot. "What are you doing?" yelled BJ. "You've survived one Mangler, get away from that one so VacuumBoy can destroy it. "No," said the White Slut, "he's my son..." and she told the story we all already know... ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/08 22:59 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Another proud member of Gamma Delta Iota... After all the information had been exchanged (so all the heroes know the same stuff), the heroes decided to return to Towers. "Let's get back to Towers," said Vacuumboy. "We've been gone for a while, and I'm afraid the university might have decided to completely close down the super hero floor." "They wouldn't do that," said the Hunter, "or would they." "No way," said the Goalie II, "not after all the trouble we've caused them in the past...(and BJ began remembering how the Hunter had stopped Res Life from charging the floor after the Chompa call-out back before the team formed)." "Enough!" yelled the Progger. "Enough with that, it's in the past. The floor will be fine; let's go." "What about the Tyke?" asked the White Slut. "Oh, that's easy," said Murray, "our floor is mostly non-super Greeks, we'll just kick a couple of them off the floor and let the Tyke Bot have their room." "Great," replied the White Slut, "that way he'll be close to my on- campus housing, and I won't have to worry about finding a new house right away." Everything settled, the heroes boarded the Love Chicken, and headed back to Towers. When they arrived they settled the Tyke Bot in, much to the dismay of the DX's that got the boot, just in time to hear the shrill sound of a fire alarm... ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/11 23:57 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Gamma Delta Iota...Once you loose it, it's gone... The heroes went down to Towers Green with everyone else from the building. Everyone found the alarm annoying, but the heroes were especially annoyed because they were tired and pissy to begin with. "We've been out saving the damn city, and they can't even give us five minutes of peace and quiet," bitched BJ. "I know," said Murray, "I really wanted a nap." "Well," said the Hunter, "at least this is obviously just a pulled false alarm, so we'll be back in soon." At that moment, the staff anounced that the residents could return to their rooms. The heroes, too exhausted to climb the stairs, waited for the elevator to arrive. When they returned to the floor, they were in for a surprise. "Where's our furniture?" yelled Vacuumboy. The Hunter and the others rushed through the door as Vacuumboy stood in the lounge in shock. "The stuff's gone off my door," yelled the Hunter. "Mine too," screamed Murray. "I didn't have anything yet," commented the Tyke Bot. "You couldn't scrape the stuff off my door," gloated BJ. "The stuff's missing from my door," said Vacuumboy, who had just come in from the lounge. "Join the club," said Chet who had moved in at the same time as the Little Tyke, but with more stuff, "although I can't complain, I swiped most of it anyway." "I called mom," said the Tyke Bot, "and none of the stuff on her floor is missing." "I called the hall director," said the Hunter, "and he said he hadn't had any other complaints." "I called the CA," said BJ, "and he said he didn't care." "Then," said Vacuumboy, "it's up to us to solve this one ourselves..." ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/17 13:56 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Gamma Delta Iota...Once you lose it, it's gone... The heroes decided to begin the search by checking the crime computer for leads on possible villains who had recently moved into the area. The best access to the crime net could be found through the on-board computers of the Love Chicken, and besides, everyone knew that the connection through the university left much to be desired, especially for speed. After meeting the White Slut on the first floor, the heroes began to make their way to the secret garage under Cardiac. At the bottom of Cardiac, however, they were met by a familiar figure who seemed to just appear. "Kaufman, is it you?" asked Murray. "Why aren't you dead?" asked the Progger. "Where have you been?" asked the Hunter. "I'm not aswering any more of your pointless questions," said Kaufman who still obviously upset over having been killed in the first place. "Why not?" asked BJ. Kaufman gave him a dirty look before continuing, "I have been thinking while I was recovering, and I realized that we began the SAJS because we believed that Cape needed a team of super heroes. It has now become PAINFULLY obvious that Cape does have a team of super heroes, and WAY to many free-lancers, too. I believe that your team can take care of Cape with adequate results." "Thanks, I think," said the Hunter. "What's your point?" asked Vacuumboy. "Just this," stated Kaufman, "there are many towns with no heroes to call their own. I have decided to start a team of protective super heroes in one of those deprived towns, possibly, yes, I'm going to Springfield." "Well, good luck," said BJ. "I'm not finished," said Kaufman, "I'm here to invite the Little Tyke (he knows because he's Kaufman) and the White Slut, who were both members of the SAJS, to join me..." ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/19 03:10 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Gamma Delta Iota...Once you lose it, it's gone... "Yeah," said Vacuumboy, "why not recruit some of those damn free-lancers for your team and leave us alone?" "Take 'em for all I care," said Murray, "they haven't been with us that long." "Murray, you're an ass," stated Chet. "They're not going," said Vacuumboy again. "I don't care," said the Hunter. "I think they're going," said an obviously annoyed Kaufman. "SHUT-UP!" screamed the White Slut. "Let us decide what we are going to do. I agree with Kaufman about the purpose of the SAJS, but I wasn't an original member. While you were all screaming at each other, I was discussing this with the Tyke, and he says there are too many bad memories here. Springfield needs us, and we need some new surroundings. Kaufman, we're with you; we are going to Springfield." So, after some teary-eyed good byes and lots of tight hugs (especially with the White Slut) our heroes parted ways. Kaufman, the White Slut, and the Tyke Bot left for Springfield, and the remaining Cape heroes entered the garage beneath Cardiac... ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/22 19:12 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Gamma Delta Iota...Once you lose it, it's gone... "Yeah," said the Hunter, "and besides, none of us really seem to be into this search to begin with." So our heroes set off in search of other adventures worthy of THE super heroe TEAM in Cape Girardeau. ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/23 16:06 by JY01STU >:: Vacuum boy eight months and three days Many weeks passed without adventures occuring, and the heroes went about actually doing schoolwork. Vacuumboy especially became an incredibly busy person. He had his classes, he had all kinds of committee meetings to go to about improving faculty-hero relations, he had to start teaching classes to fledgling superheroes on how to use their powers, and of course he still had his regular janitorial duties. But luckily, this time was pretty much clear of incidents. Some minor things like flags being stolen and bulletin boards catching fire, but it was nothing the heroes needed to get worried about. Then one day, Vacuumboy was on his way back from a hard day of instructing his students--the day had been particularly tough due to their whining that a test he had given them was too hard--, and one his way into South, he was suddenly pelted by rotten fruit. "What the hell?" Vacuumboy cried angrily. A rotten apple had hit him on the back and had stained the new cape he had bought especially to look professional while teaching. Now he would have to have it cleaned and his tab at Ken's Cape cleaners was already excessive. Vacuumboy turned around to face his attacker and discovered a crowd of angry students waving protest signs that read things like "Where were you when we needed you?" and "Heroes Go Home!!!" More rotten fruit flew at vacuumboy who was able to dodge it all successfully. "What's your problem?" he asked the mob. "Our problem," said the apparent leader of the group, "is that you so-called heroes are nothing more than the administration's lapdogs!" "What?" Vacuumboy said incredulously. "Where do you get that idea?" "How about the fact that the administration pays for your services?" the leader said. "true, I am on a special "superhero" scholarship, but I don't see..." The leader interrupted. "You see?" he screamed to the crowd. "He's one of THEM! These heroes are just the university's hired help, the militia of the man, and if we start to speak out against them, they're going to come flying down on us as if we were true villains!" "what? That's not true!" Vacuumboy protested. "Don't try to deny the fact that you had something to do with the demise of the anti-admin newspaper, the Gazette!" the leader shouted. More fruit rained down on Vacuumboy as he tried to deny it. "but I.." "and where were you when we really needed you?" the leader pressed on. "when our bulletin boards catch fire, and our dry-erase board markers are stolen off our doors, where were you then?" "But that's not really my job. Such offenses are too small for us to take care of," VB argued. "You see, people?" the leader addressed the crowd again. "He considers these things trifles, beneath him." He turned agian and faced VB, a finger pointed at him accusingly. "Someone could have been killed and you did nothing to prevent it." "But I'm not God! I can't be everywhere at once!" Vacuumboy pleaded with the crowd, trying in vain to defend himself. "but you could be doing something!" the leader said. More fruit flew. "And you're not! You're not doing anything! Last year when that vampire attacked, how many people had to die before you caught him? And how much damage did the De-kars do before you took care of them? Barnie the Putrid killed famous country music stars..." This time VB interrupted. "Tim and Faith were my friends!" "Don't try to obscure the facts! The Devil's Advocate destroyed the dome! How many more times must it be rebuilt before you heroes do something about it. And those space invaders last year! when they attacked, where were you? Off in space! I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't have soemthing ot do with their attack!" "That's absurd," VB said, cringing back from the crowd, who were advancing upon him. "Is it? If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem," the leader said. "Isn't that right, people?" The entire corwd shouted "YEAH!!!" in unison and the rain of fruit became heavier. Several frat boys wearign t-shirts with Greek letters on them (the first an upside-down V) hurled watermelons at Vacuumboy's head. The watermelons busted on Vacuumboy's skull and knocked him unconscious. then the crowd closed in upon him. ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/10/23 19:04 by KR53STU >:: The Hunter Gamma Delta Iota...Once you lose it, it's gone... The group of Greek students then began to kick and hit Vacuumboy mercileslly. A few independent students stood helplessly by, after all, if their hero couldn't defend himself, what could they do. Luckily, at that moment, the Hunter was returning from class (for he too had been using the down time to act like a student) and saw the commotion. He walked right to the edge of the mob without being noticed. "What's going on here?" asked the Hunter. "We're just beating one of those GDI scholarship superheroes. Pretty cool, huh?" replied a frat boy without ever turning to see who had asked. "Yeah," said the Hunter as he drew his second rate stilt (he knew it would be enough), "look, another one!" "Where?" asked the frat boy as he turned to look. "Right here," said the Hunter, lifting the stilt. "No!!!" screamed the frat boy as he tried to run. It was too late for running. The Hunter went bullistic and unleashed rage caused by three months of sharing his building with bell ringin', power trippin' Greeks. Half he knocked out with the stilt, another quarter he dropped on their heads with a weird inverted DDT, another eighth he kicked in the head, another sixteenth recieved broken arms, and the final sixteenth BJ (who was returning from class) finished off as they attempted to flee the scene. Not one left unscathed. "What happened?" asked BJ. "I'll explain later," replied the Hunter, "but first we must get Vacuumboy inside. Greeks startle easily, but they will return, and in greater numbers." Upstairs, back within the relative safety of the seventh floor, the Hunter told BJ and the rest of the heroes what he knew as they waited for Vacuumboy to recover. "...and," concluded the Hunter, "they appear to be on a mission to destroy the superheroes, but I'm not sure why..." "I know a little," said a still weakened Vacuumboy who had awoken during the Hunter's explanation. "They believe that because we are on scholarships that we are tools of the university and that we haven't done a good job of protecting them." "I don't buy that," said the Progger, "I believe there is a deeper reason they want us out of the way..." ================================================================================ >:::The following added 1998/11/01 22:23 by JY01STU >:: Vacuum boy eight months and three days But before anyone somehow could spontaneously generate the correct answer to why the student population were in a state of revolt, Vacuumboy heard from his seat in the lounge a noise in the distance. Suddenly Licko appeared. "Phone0" he informed Vacuumboy. "Did you answer it?" Vacuumboy asked him as he moved slowly toward the lounge door. Licko shook his head and then disappeared from whence he came. Vacuumboy fumbled with his keys to open the lounge door, which Licko had unpropped as he disappeared. By the time the door was open, Vacuumboy's phone had ceased ringing. "Damn!" he shouted. "If only I had an extremely long phone cord, I would never miss calls. but alas, that is not the case." His lamenting done, he dialed his voice-mail to see if whomever had called him had left a message. The message that he heard shocked him so much that he rushed out into the lounge to tell his fellow heroes gathered there. "GUYS!" he screamed. "You're never going to guess who just called me!" "was it Papa John's?" Jared asked. "I ordered a pizza from them a while ago, and since I obviously couldn't use my OWN number, I gave them yours." "No!" shouted Vacuumboy. "It was Jim Pelfry! "Good night!" And without saying anymore, he and all the heroes went to bed, leaving Vacuumboy alone to ponder his predicament for a moment before he too relented and went to his room to get some much-needed rest. Later that night, an alarm went off in the room of the Hunter. Ad it went off. It went off and went off and went off. The alarm continued to go off for nearly three full hours before the Hunter finally awoke. The Hunter yawned and rubbed his eyes as he sat up in his bed. "Oh no!" he suddenly screamed when he looked at his clock. "I've overslept!" The clock read "6:53". The Hunter frantically climbed down from his loft and ran for the phone. "I've overslept and now people have been enrolling for a whole two hours and fifty-three... oh no! fifty-FOUR minutes!" Jared got through to SAVRS without a problem. "I'm just screwed now. I'm not going to get into any of those five elective courses I want to take that aren't going toward my major at all." He dialed in his ID code and, of course, followed it with the pound sign. "Oh, I just now those two activity, one-hour, pointless little classes I had scheduled are already closed," the Hunter whined as he entered his four digit pin and the pound sign. The Hunter stopped whining for just a moment and said surprisedly, "Hey, they re-recorded all these messages! That's sort of cool!" And the Hunter smiled in spite of his worried state over his imagined crisis. Soon however the smile had left his face as he was confonted with a strange message, long after he had entered in every piece of informationonhimselfthat the SAVRS lady could think to ask, including his waist and inseam, and long after he had already dialed in all the codes for all the courses he wanted and even a few back-up courses just in case. The message told him he had a financial hold on his account. The Hunter cursed wildly and hung up the phone. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was now well past 7:30. "The Bursar's should be open by now," he thought to himself as he dialed the number. "I'll just call them up and see how much I owe. I'm sure it's only for my phone bill, and that can't be more than four or five dollars. I never call anybody for a long amount of time, unless they're girls who live off-campus that I occasionally duk with." Moments later, the Hunter rushed into Vacuumboy's room and woke him up. "You'll never believe what I just found out!" he cried. "Whatever it is," Vacuumboy said sleepily, "it better be good." And when I got the scholarship, my parents used my college fund for a vaction. I can't pay to go to school." By this point all of the heroes on the floor were awake due to the screaming of the Hunter and Vacuumboy. Most of the heroes wandered into the hall, but the freshmen just gave them dirty looks, kicked doors, and went back to bed. "What is all of this noise about?" asked BJ. "Yeah," said the Progger, "I've got class in an hour, but I could've used the extra sleep." "All of the super-hero scholarships have been revoked. We can't register because they're even making us pay for the rest of this semester," stated the Hunter. "They can't do that," said Chet, "I signed a legal contract, didn't I?" "Probably not," replied the Progger, "about half of those signed were signed by some one other than the President, so they may not be legally binding, at least not from the university's end." "Even if they are," said the Hunter, "I was told that we had all been ruled in breech of contract. That is why Vacuumboy has to talk to Pelfrey, he was chosen as our representative." "Why?" asked the others, including Vacuumboy. "I'm not sure," replied the Hunter, "but for some reason they've decided that talking to him will be as effective as talking to all of us." "TRIAL?" Vacuumboy exclaimed. "Yes," said the first DPS officer. "The charges were brought against you by one "Buddy Levi Wrangler Jr.", a freshman here on campus." The second officer continued where the first left off and pulled out the warrant for vacuumboy's arrest. "You, Vacuumboy, as senior-most member and unofficial leader of this group of heroes..."
