Hello, everyone. My last two rants have been critical flops, and I'm sure that they didn't fare much better in the court of public opinion. (I'm considering the people who gave me their opinions as critics and those who read but didn't bother to be the public [I have a gift for stating the obvious]). That said, I welcome suggestions for my next rant. What would anyone like my opinion on? Maybe I can avoid another bomb if I answer to my fans' requests. E-mail me or let me know in the guestbook. I can get on with this rant, now.

Certain eras of my life are coming to an end. Vacuumboy is leaving Cape in a week. The number of friends I have at SEMO is quickly dwindling in it's inevitable approach to zero. Dr. Cooper is retiring.

Another thing that is ending is the Weekly Sermon by Stallio. A person who I will not name suggested that I try to increase the regularity of the Rant to replace the Sermon. Long before there was the Occassional Rant, there was the Weekly Sermon, and the Rant was never intended to serve the same purpose, and it never will. The similarity is that both are on-line opinion pieces. Stallio does it better and with more flair. While the Rant is more (or at least has become more) regular than the Random Musing (Gwar's Page), it was never intended as a regular forum and I never intend to subject it to the humiliation of asking who would want to be on a mailing list of Rants.

Yes, the Sermon is special. The archives of past Sermons are still available on Stallio's page (linked here, of course). There are also 10 more sermons to go. Stallio has decided to finish another year's worth before stopping. If anyone is reading this who is not already on the Sermon list, then I recommend making a quick trip to Stallio's page and signing up before the last installment of this internet icon. Also, spend some time browsing the archives. I just did, and it was well worth it.

Stallio and I differ on a lot of aspects and opinions, but we both agree on the right to express them. He presents his brilliantly. Get on board for the last hurrah. He may not change your mind, but he will open your eyes to another perspective.

Feel free to comment in the guest book or e-mail me at [email protected].
