| Jacqueline "Mufasa" Perez-Frias. We met at work (Handy Andy) and quickly became friends...well, after we kicked it once. I came out to her and she was pretty cool with it. My ghetto girl to the end. Again, like Maria, she got with a guy that was a total jerk. Now she lives in Puerto Rico and he fleeing from INS here in Chicago. I miss her a lot! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Maria S. Roldan...well, now her last name is Isquierdo. Friends since highschool, but because of a man we did not speak for over seven years. Now we are talking again and are becoming closer to each other like we use to be. And yes, she left the guy who got in our way. |

| Vanessa Carlo-Newman. We met via email (IPRNET) I think in 1995. We finally met face to face in 1996 at the National Puerto Rican Affirmation Day in Washington, DC. We quickly became great friends from there. Vanessa help me to see the potential that I had within myself. She helped to train and nuture my endeavours. I will always be grateful to her. Thanks...Vane! Oh, she is also getting married this summer in Puerto Rico. I plan to be there for the wedding with Nalini. |

| God, if heaven is a barrel of laughs...there better be a million Nalini's there. This woman, I met through Vanessa Carlo. We did not become friends at first until she moved to the midwest to attend graduate school. Nalini is my best and worst critic! But most of all she ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. She really knows how to make me laugh...even when she's "mandandome pal' carajo". Thank you Nalini! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| If I were ever to have a straight counterpart, it would probably be Arnoldo Cervantes-Ruiz. We met a few years back at UIC. One thing that Arnoldito has taught me is to be more pan-Latinocentric. For so long, I focused on Puerto Ricans and Puerto Rican issues. He helped me to see things in a more broader perspective. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Pablo Cruz. We met at work (Handy Andy) back in 1994. We quickly latched on to each other. One of the coolest guys I've ever met. We don't talk much now anymore, but I still consider him a good friend. And by the way, he's got one of the cutest, SLAMMINEST butts you'll ever see on a Puerto Rican man! Oh yeah, the word is now out yet on whether he is straight or bisexual. Half of us who know him say he is "bi" and the other half says no. Only time will tell. |

| Robert David Bilkey. We met in our senior year of high school. We quickly became friends with a third person (Eduardo Amar, not pictured). After Eduardo left to the Army, it was basically Rob and me. We were about as close and intimate as to straight guys could get. I love Robert like he was my brother. We're not as tight as we use to be, but nonetheless, friends are forever as long as they keep in touch. Rob's girlfriend recently gave birth to a little girl. Congrats! |
