Subject:  William Batte Tatum

My great-grandfather was William Batte Tatum who served in the 21st Virginia
Infantry.  He entered that unit as a member of the Brunswick (County) Grays.
After the war he was accidentally shot while hunting and is buried in
Brunswick County.  The exact location of of the grave is not known except
that it was on the farm that he and his wife, Louisa Ann Ruffin Carpenter,
owned.
