pvt. george w. jarrett enlisted in co. H.,23rd regiment,nc state troops,on or
about april 6th,1861. he was wounded in the right arm at gettysburg in
1863,then at spotslvania courthouse in virginia in 1864 in the same
arm,resulting in the amputation of the right arm above the elbow. he was then
assigned to the envalid corps. he applied for and received a pension on
september 6,1886 in monroe,n.c. he died on september 8,1905,and is buried at
shilo babtist church cemetery in monroe,n.c. he is my g-g-grandfather.
