Bennett Family Cemetery on hill above historic Preston Bennett house in
Snow Creek community of Franklin County, Virginia.
Buried there is Franklin Bennett, Private in 57th Va Inf, Co. G -- known
as "Ladies Home Guard" and said to be one of the best dressed units from
Franklin County.  The 57th was one of three units to reach Union lines
at Gettysburg, and Franklin Bennett was one of the few survivors.  He
died in 1870 and is buried near the family home.
