There are seven Confederate Veterans buried at the Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas:  

"Seven Confederate prisoners of war died while imprisoned at Fort Leavenworth; they too, were laid to rest in the cemetery, finally at peace with those against whom they fought so desperately in life." J. W. Bayne served in Company D, 12th Missouri Cavalry. His headstone reads: "J. W. Bayne / Co. D / 12 Mo. Cav. / C. S. A."

George W. Brashier served in Searcy's Battalion, Missouri Sharpshooters. His headstone reads: "George W. Brashier / Searcy's Bn. Mo. / Sharp / Shooters [C. S. A.]."

John Burland served in Company D, 7th Missouri Cavalry. His headstone reads: "John Burland / Co. D / 7 Mo. Cav. / C. S. A."

Jessie Gregg served in Searcy's Battalion, Missouri Sharpshooters. His headstone reads: "Jessie Gregg / Searcy's Bn. Mo. / Sharp / Shooters / C. S. A."

John A. Halston served in Company H, Fristoe's Regiment, Missouri Cavalry. His headstone reads: "John A. Halston / Co. H / Fristoe's Regt / Mo. Cav. / C. S. A."

M. K. Jones. His headstone reads: "M. K. Jones / ARK / C. S. A."

Ben J. H. Moulton. His headstone reads: "Ben J. H. Moulton"
