Col. Elijah P. Gates, Commander of the 1st Missouri Calvary CSA is buried at Mt. Mora
Cemetery in St. Joseph MO.  Col. Gates was a hemp farmer in Buchanan County before
and after the war.  Is gave is currently unmarked, but I am in the process of
obtaining a suitable headstone.
Elijah Gates was my Great Grandfather.
I have much information on his war years in my posession.
