My great-great-great grandfather Anderson
High is buried in the Allen/High
Family cemetery in Anson County, NC. He was a private in Company "E", 33rd
NC Infantry, wounded and captured at Fredericksburg May 3, 1863, exchanged
at City Point May 13th, wounded and captured at Gettysburg July 3rd, then
parolled at Point Lookout August 30, 1863. He then died during the yankee
seige of Peterburg, July 22, 1864. Thirty-five other High family relatives
served, of which nine were killed - two others are also buried in this same
cemetery I am told, but I don't have the details I have for Anderson
