Smoking: Truth or Dare
(Teen Files -- Vital Information)

How many people do you think would on their own "choose" to light paper and dead leaves on fire and inhale the smoke (similar to the pollution from an exhaust pipe, a bonfire, or a factory) if tobacco companies hadn't manipulated people into believing that whether or not to smoke was a decision even worth considering by paying actors to make smoking look desirable in movies and other "advertising" in order to get people addicted to a harmful substance? Because once hooked...

Smoking has ZERO benefit!

Many people are skeptical of what others have to say because they distrust the other person's motives. I have nothing to gain by trying to provide this information to you. You, on the other hand, do have a lot to lose if you or someone close to you smokes, a loss that I hope you'll never have to experience.

Smoke reduces the amount of Oxygen your blood can carry, leaving you feeling more easily tired and worn down, makes you age dramatically faster, and destroys your heart and lungs.

It makes you sick (both on its own and by making you more susceptible to infections and diseases).

The only people that smoking attracts are other smokers. I've met people that wouldn't even go to see a movie at a theater, because they couldn't ("didn't want to") sit through the movie for an hour and a half or so without having a cigarette (their "choice" again)! Is that really how you want to live your life?

If you think you hate having a cold, what do you think heart disease, respiratory failure, and cancer feel like? As if these weren't reasons enough not to smoke, smoking then ultimately kills you, usually after a period of prolonged suffering. Smoking also makes you stink, and it makes you look stupid.

And for what?

But yet there are people who continue to smoke (all too often even pregnant women for whom the consequences are severe to both the soon-to-be mother and child), often and unfortunately because their ability to "choose" has been long-since replaced by an addiction to a product marketed by companies that think of you only in terms of dollar signs and couldn't care less about your life.

You don't get a second chance. If you smoke, your "choice" will make you sick, suffer, and then die.

There are many ways to enjoy life. Smoking only takes it from you.

Does this decision even sound like it requires much thought to you?

Why don't people ever seem to DO what they say they know is best for them? Do you?
