Luigi Pasinetti

Biografia

Pasinetti nasceu em 1930 em Bergamo, na Itália. Formou-se na Universidade Católica de Milão em 1954 e obteve seu PhD na Universidade de Cambridge, em 1962. Lecionou nos anos 60 e 70 no King´s College, em Cambridge, e na Universidade de Columbia. Em 1977 voltou à Itália e tornou-se professor em Milão e em Roma.
 
 

Contribuição

Pasinetti foi um dos principais responsáveis por desenvolver formulações matemáticas rigorosas da teoria do valor e distribuição de Ricardo. Além disso, em controvérsia com Samuelson, mostrou uma falha séria da microeconomia ortodoxa, provando ser ilegítima o uso do valor do capital como variável para explicar a determinação da taxa de juros porque é exatamente a taxa de juros que determina o valor do capital.
 
 

Linha de Pensamento

Pasinetti é um dos principais contribuidores da escola Neo-Ricardiana, de marcada oposição à escola neoclássica. Seu trabalho também se alinha com os pós-keynesianos.
