COURSE SYLLABUS: CHEM 102 (General Chemistry II)

UNITS: 5.0

PREREQUISITES: Chem 101 (General Chemistry I) or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Continuation of chemistry 101 with introductory matter on solutions of acids and bases, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, reaction kinetics, chemistry of common elements, radiochemistry, and organic chemistry are included. The laboratory will give concrete examples of lecture material, also qualitative analysis and further inorganic preparation techniques will be studied.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES: One grade will be assigned for CHEM 102. The grade will include both lecture and lab work. If you fail either the lecture portion or the lab portion of the course, the highest grade you can earn in the course is a "D".
