The Jackal's View of Medical Treatment

Major advances have been made in the field of medicine since the 20th century.
With the introduction of bionics, nearly every part of the human body can
be replaced. From digits, to limbs, to organs, and even the entire body
itself - nothing (except the central nervous system) is replaceable.
Through techniques like biosynthesis and genetic engineering, substitutes
for damaged or faulty body systems can be readily provided. This has greatly
benifitted empires with a high amount of resources. Injured soldiers can
quickly be patched up and sent back into the field again. A person
with a seemingly fatal blast to the chest that opens up a huge hole in
a person's body can be saved if treated soon enough. Even people that
seem totally destroyed, can be saved by the process of bionic conversion.

For use in the field, nano machine units such as the IRMISS system
can be injected into the body. When the body is damaged, these little
machines go to work in the blood stream to try and repair the damage.
Of course most of these advances only benifit those who can afford it.
Usually this means you have to have the money yourself, or one hell of a
insurance plan (like that provided to Coalition officers). Either way, it is
a good option to have. Just don't get shot in the head.
