So, if I empty a 30 round clip into 1 target, I now roll 20d6 to see how many
hits I get. All the 6's will count as a hit with one shot, right? On a normal
shot, this would mean that 1/6 the shots hit, or in this case roughly 4 hits
would be scored. So the damage would be 3d6 x 4. This is a little disappointing
compared to conventional rules, but seems OK.
This also means that say I roll all 6's on the 20d6 roll (I know it is very far
fetched, but it is possible so please humour me). This means that the damage
would be 3d6 x 20! This gives us a max. damage of 360 damage! Now, how hard
would it be to hit a building or wall? Probably not that hard. Would we then
use the same rules? Would all the shots hit and do damage? I bring this up
because rail guns, missles, and heavy mount weapons (such as a particle beam
on a tank) are now not nearly as effective as the common infantryman's side arm.
Although they have the benifits of range, they can not do nearly as much
damage as Joe "Blow" Infantry running up to the side of a structure and emptying
a clip into it.
What do you guys think?
