The Circumstances Surrounding thr Ninety- Five Theses

Martin Luther posted his ninety- five theses and challanged the church in an attempt to free himself from his guilt. He was constantly feeling guilt from his sins, so he decided to change the laws. He felt that his desire for women and the easiness of a priests role in life should be challanged at the same time, so that he would not appear to be only a priest wanting to give up on his vows. He decided to post them to get rid of the demons that were haunting him. He decided that if the church were challenged, he could slowly convince them, with impunity, and his desires could be met.

Calbin's Geneva was Considered the City that was a Church Because...

Geneva was viewed as a church, because its laws were based on the bible's. It also greatly resembled a church by the style of life in it. More emphasis was placed on man-to-God laws than man-to-man. The bible's law was taken by the letter as well as in spirit. If broken, the harsh punishment was given, as perscribed by the bible. It was viewed that all humans were alike, both genders, that they were all evil sinners.
