The problem with my newfound realization, that the other side can be understood, and the conflict has to be settled from both sides, I quickly realized, was that it does not check the legitimacy of the argument. It merely shows that the side can follow in a legitimate pattern. That really could create problems if it were the rule, which as I'm finding more and more, is that it is.
I suppose it's no surprise, nor anything new, of the value of spin doctors, but combined with the realization that the Holocaust is rationally explained through philosop, it shows that spin doctors could set the whole system on its ear. Obviously, you can empathize with a person who did something wrong, but the spin doctor will try to demonstrate that the guilty party did the right thing. A person who is good at arguing can legitimize any point that you now think is silly.
Take the Flat Earth Society. I have not met a person who subscribes to their beliefs, but I'm sure that if a person really tried, they could, well, make a good argument.
Thus my idea, if I ever get caught up with this diary, I'm going to write The Philosophical Whore, the ultimate Spin Doctor, who basically would be responsible for the reality of today. All the silly preconceived notions, on both sides of the track were fed by him. Kind of like Agent X. The opening quote would be from The Guide, where man proves that God does not exist, than gets run over by zebras. The plot would be a person trying to convince the "hoar" that what he is doing is wrong, and then watch as this person's morals are sent askew 180 degrees.
It's just an idea.
