Smoking

Warning: This insults B'nei Akiva

We really dont appreciate Boaz and Devora, our higher ups on the Kibbutz enough. Ive had counselors that didnt care at all before. On the French Hachsharas Kibbutz, their leaders dont speak French. But I really feel sorry for the Brits.

Apparently, their kibbutz doesnt like them. The kibbutzniks were trying to find something on them. So, one of the aforementioned kibbutzniks claimed to smell pot. Their counselors literally laughed in the face of the Hachshara students as they protested and denied the charges. In a seemingly out of place gesture of fairness, the powers that be decided to search, to see if there was any marijuana. They came up empty. Nothing. No pot, nothing worse than tobacco, and some beers, all legal.

Not content, the Brits were interrogated.

One of them let it slip, that they were in the same room as a kibbutznik, who was smoking- tobacco- but on Shabbas (Saturday). Bingo. This is apparently enough to throw three kids out of the program. The official response is that watching somebody smoke on Shabbas is equitable to witnessing a rape, and not doing anything about it.

The three kids, who it is agreed, were not saints, agreed to the punishments, which lead to two "obvious" conclusions

1 ) They were guilty of a much more heinous act, and it was agreed by both parties that a lesser crime would be trumped up so as not to cause any more problems for these kids.

2 ) Of course they left; if you could be kicked out for such an insignificant act, would you want to stay?

Either way, this really cant look all that good for Bnei Akiva. Moral given by Bnei Akiva- "If you see a rape, leave the room."

We really dont appreciate how good our leaders are.
