 Ranma Saotome is the son of Genma Saotome and future heir to the Anything-goes School of Martial Arts. This is because he is engaged (not of his own free will)
 to Akane Tendo. If only Ranma's only fiance was Akane, maybe he wouldn't have so much trouble. With girls like Shampoo and Kodachi Kuno (the "Black Rose")
 chasing him around, there's never an end to trouble and embarassment for poor Ranma!
 There's double gender trouble for Ranma too! Because of a training accident on a recent trip to the Cursed Springs Jusenkyo in China, whenever Ranma is splashed
with cold water, he becomes a she. As girl Ranma, he has the pleasure of being chased by Tatewaki Kuno and hunted by Shampoo! What a confusing life!
How do we describe the feelings that Akane and Ranma show towards one another? Well, face value public performance says pure venom. Ranma calls Akane "Uncute", and Akane decks him (or her). Akane is very strong in martial arts, but she can't cook or do other houseworks! You don't see much Ranma's crush on Akane because he can't expressed his feelings, but when he can... you'll love it!. When Akane gets her hair accidentally chopped off during a fight that pitted Ranma against Ryoga, she was crushed. As she wandered the streets alone, Ranma went to talk to her. Expecting a jibe, Akane braced herself. Ranma, however, said "You know short hair makes you look cute". There are very funny episodes, especially when an old man (who's a expert of martial art) shows up and likes to steal underwear around the neighbourhood! Not to mention many fighting challenges from Ryoga (changes to pig and falls for Akane), Ukyo (the double gender Okonomiyaki seller - kind of Japanese Pizza!) and Shampoo's childhood boyfriend (who turns to a duck)!
