Arsene Wenger's six-month search for a replacement for Ian Wright could end
with the signing of Inter Milan's Nigerian striker Nwankwo Kanu.
Wenger has also signed French midfielder Willie Huck, 19, on a two-year
contract from Wenger's old club, Monaco.
Inter officials confirmed they were holding talks with Arsenal
over the 22-year-old Kanu, who is set to join in a 4.5million move,
although the Italian team are understood to want the option to buy him back
in the summer. A spokesman for the Serie A team told Sportsmail: 'We are
negotiating with Arsenal over a move for Kanu to England. The talks are
on-going.'
