Guidance
This is my Savior, the Light of the World,
In whom is no shadow of turning.
No variability, ever the same,
Wondrous provision in His matchless Name,
I'm free from sin since He's taken my blame;
Now within me His love e'er is burning.
This Light of all lights shows the path I'm to take,
Be it thru brightest joy, dimmest sorrow.
The radiant peace that He gives doth insure,
Regardless of trials, foreboding, obscure.
In Him I've a resting place ever secure,
That gives gleaming hope for tomorrow.
The Light is the same on the Mount, in the vale,
And tho' life seems dark, still I know
His light has not faltered thru tests of the years,
It only seems flick'ring when I allow tears,
To overwhelm me in black moments of fear,
That bring gloom when trial's winds blow.
So look up to Him, for with eyes on the Light
One can't see the shadows surrounding.
Overcast skies will then soon become bright,
Tear-filled and misty eyes take on new sight,
For his hand on your heart will His love-flame ignite,
And You'll find life that's always abounding.
