9. The Lord of Peace (Comfort)

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Help, Lord!
My world today seems like Galilee at tempest time.
I feel very small and in the middle -
with something of the feeling that my boat is paper-thin
and the waves are steel scissors.
I know You care, Jesus, but today I must confess
I think I understand the disciples outcry:
"Master - don't You care that we're sinking?"

Forgive my fears,
for I know they are sad commentaries on my faith -
that is, my faithlessness.
I come to You, announcing my true belief:
You, Lord Jesus Christ, are the Lord of Peace.
I turn to You and from the storm.
I look to You and away from fear.
Today I step into the resources of Your name -
Prince of Peace - whose rule is able to overthrow
the factors that fret my soul and force my fears.

Stand tall within me, Jesus.
Rise up and denounce the winds - Be still!
And in Your almighty name I welcome
calmness,
wholeness, and
harmony.
Praise Your name, Lord Jesus.
Amen.
