For in situ and immunostaining work
1. Soak slides overnight or longer in chromic acid (dissolve 20 g potassium dichromate in about 30 ml water, add 300 ml conc. H2SO4 slowly with stirring in cold water bath. *Pour away chromic acid when it turns green)
2. Wash well with tap water
3. Soak overnight in Alconox
4. Wash well with tap water
5. Soak in 95% EtOH
6. Bake in oven at 180oC for 2 hr or overnight
7. Cool down
8. In fumehood, soak in acetone 10 sec, acetone with 1.5% TESPA (3-aminopropyl-triethoxy-silane) 10 sec, acetone 10 sec, autoclaved TDW for 5 min. Wrap in foil with holes at the bottom, dry overnight in oven at 60oC.

For histology only
1. Soak slides overnight with acid ethanol (70% ethanol, 10% HCl)
2. Wash well with tap water
3. Soak in 95% EtOH for 5 min.
4. Wrap in foil with holes at the bottom, dry overnight in oven at 60oC.
