Gogarten Lab Guest-Book

This is my first attempt on doing something like this.
So please bear with me, if things don't work as they are supposed to.

I really find your website to be a very good teaching tool when it comes to genetics, cell, and evoloutionary biology. Please, keep me up to-date on the lastest research. I have an interest in the cell physiology of freash water "Red" algae in the Tenn. r ver valley. I currently teach biological sciences and research on culture media for Caloglossa lep. I hope to hear from you soon.. Rodney Beasley (662) 728-2160

Salutations, Peter! While I would probably change some of the color schemes and general layout, this site remains impressive. You might want to link to Henry Gogarten's other internet presence, and make note of the fact that my webpage has since about July moved to fsn.net... Apart from that, things are shaping up nicely here.

Your lab is a nice lab. My friend Moustafa Moussa just joined in your lab. He is a nice, gentle guy. He has a sense of humour. I am looking forward to see his face in your lab picture. May he has good luck in your lab.

Well, I think your website is great! However, I must admit my opinion is a bit biased as I am also very interested in the work you are doing. I am currently an undergraduate majoring in chemistry and environmental science, and though I must admit my limited knowledge prevents me from fully comprehending some of your published work, I am able to recognize the exciting significance of your questi ns into the early evolution of life on Earth. My academic background includes courses in chemistry, ecology, evolution, and microbiology, all of which has in a common way given me an appreciation and wonder for microbial processes and molecular evolution. More specifically, similar to the first time I learned of Margulis' theory of endosymbiosis, the role of microbes as participants or models for understanding molecular evolution and early biotic history fascinates me. Though I am certain you are a very busy person, it would be immeasurable for me if you could respond via e-mail, concerning what graduate study at U. Conn. (specifically MCB: microbiology) is like and most importantly whether you will be accepting gradua e students in your lab for the fall '99 term. I hope it was not too impolite to have wrote to you this way in your guestbook but I felt it was more comfrotable then just e-mailing you formally. Thank you for your time and I will look forward to your response. Yeejin Kim ([email protected])
