JC1...
Wallowing in self-pity now...dealing with my withdrawal symptoms of
having left SC (e.g: thinking of SC everytime I see a bowl of meepok, pulling
on all my
friends' SC school belts before the 3 months run out, etc.) I have to say
though, SC looks
even better since I left (wait a minute, that didn't sound right...). Really!
Noticed that
the grassy area along where the cars enter the driveway (aka the prefects used
to stand to
book latecomers...) has pretty ixora bushes growing! And the various banners...
love the
Centennial badge and journal!
Oh yes, here's trivia for you:
(from what I know...)
1) Hwa Chong has the greatest no. of SC J1s!!!
2) Followed by RJC...
3) Then NJC...
(Obviously, you guys can tell which JC I'm from! Elementary, my dear Watson...)
Enough crapping! Just like to say hi to all the teachers...take care! )

miss SCGS a whole lot.*sob*. Even reading the mails here makes me feel
sentimental

I am proud to be in SC, and the Sec4 batch of 1999-SCGS's 100th year!! Ain't I
lucky?
Well, don't be surprised another of my mails come in next year blabbering
sentimental
stuff, hey, I can't help it. Its my 10th year! sure all SCGSians feel the same
way. OK,
stop being crapy now. Take care and support this page-cause its damn hellova

Jewel
of Emerald Hill... That moniker still applicable?
Yes! This IS another old
relic from Emerald Hill adding her 2 cents worth to this site. I just HAVE to
say this. I
MISS EMERALD HILL! Hey! Am not saying that there's anything bad about the new
site, I
mean, you people have it a lot better than we did! Bamboo blinds? French
balconies? 4-6
electric fans per classroom. Hey! We on Emerald Hill had only 2 fans per
classroom to help
us combat the Singaporean heat, which would be made even more unbearable after
a grilling
PE session in the hot midday sun. What more to say if one of them fans decided
to go on
strike and leave us defenceless against sweltering heat, save for the fact that
we are
wearing Singapore's "airiest" school uniform. Have to say that the
presence of
some of the teachers who taught us at the old site gives us visiting old girls
reason to
reminisce. Sad to say though that each visit brings about pangs of regret.
Regret that
these visits are not happening in that cramped and dusty compound atop Emerald
Hill!
Well, life goes on and time has
really flown pass since we graduated. SCGS is turning 100 this year!
Felicitation! Would
like to wish my dearest alma mater, the Jewel of Emerald Hill, a very happy
100th
birthday!!! Will make sure that I get a seat on the first flight outta UK on 2
July so
that I'll be just in time for the dinner. SC lagi best I say! Yes!!!

My fondest regards to the Mee Pok Man!!
My Goodness! Talk about a trip down nostalgia! But, er.., can we have more info
and pix of
the Emerald days? You know, that site with the supposed invisible see-saw that
creaks at
night? The place where the white, longhaired woman was spotted brushing her
hair on top of
the tree - carpark behind Pri. bldg -, looking most wicked.....in daylight??!
Anyway...
Wish you gals had been there when you could go shop at the drop of the hat and
when
Macdonald's was the highlight of the day. Espirit sales meant missing the first
lesson of
the afternoon and Paper Moon - sticker shop - was still at Orchard C&E now
Orchard
Emerald. Well, just wanted to say, embarrassing as it is for my age, it was a
rather
tearfully joyful trip seeing this site. But, in case my clients see this and
cancel their
accounts with me, I'd best appear less the emotional, wimpy little kid that I
am. My last
word: Eat as much Mee Pok as you can coz nobody, NOBODY, lets you put as much
vinegar in
ur noodles as our Mee Pok Man.
Cheers and live
well!
