As the captain of the 1999-2000 UCSD Co-ed Spirit Squad, I would like to welcome you to our home page. This season will be an extremely exciting endeavor for our team as we make our way into the cheerleading world as a second year squad. Already we have received much recognition for our efforts by crowds and spectators across the nation in addition to a National Champions title in collegiate cheerleading. Mayor Susan Golding of San Diego has offered us a warm welcome into the community and has graciously extended us a prestigious invitation to perform at the San Diego Columbus Day Parade and festivals as the official collegiate exhibition squad this year. Also, the Federation of Collegiate Spiritleaders has welcomed our team into it's community and has designated our team as one of 6 teams to perform at the 1999-2000 Spiritfest Convention, an invitation much coveted by many spirit teams abroad. We also plan to compete at two national level competitions this year in the category of Large Co-ed Collegiate Cheer, Div. II. as well as Div. II Co-ed Partner Stunt. It is my hope that the team members this year and on will continue our tradition of building UCSD spirit. The team members join me in welcoming you to our "gym on the web" and thank you for your continuous kind support.

Best Wishes,
Eric L. Srangsriwong
Captain

***OUR TEAM PHILOSOPHY***

1. As "cheerleaders", it is our duty to promote team and school spirit through various conventions including crowdleading, performing, or competing.
2. As UCSD "cheerleaders", we support all UCSD athletics and encourage the Tritons to victory. Regardless of the crowd size, whether it be one fan or a million, it is our job to make them yell for UCSD.
3. We are a team, a family, inseparable. We practice, work, perform, succeed, fail, fall, and rise as a TEAM. No one person means more than another, and we are all expected to give 150% at all times.
4. As a squad we see it important to compete. Taking our spirit and pride and putting it to action in a competition across the nation not only gives us a chance to be the athletes we are, but also gives us a chance to network with other schools, creating a sense of unity that is crucial to true athletic programs.
5. We have fun. Aside from the work we do to accomplish our goals, we take the time to relax and enjoy ourselves, smile and be the young adults we are.
6. We learn from our mistakes. To become successful one must first learn how to fail. This can mean anything from improving your personal attitude to perfecting or learning a new stunt. Never give up, always do your best, then look back and smile at the results.
7. We grow and mature. Being a UCSD Spiritleader helps us learn to respect and love others and trust each other. It teaches us to be punctual and prepared in addition to being responsible for our own actions.
