Your Textbook:Mathematics, A Human Endeavor, Third Edition, Harold R. Jacobs.
All tests must be proctored... that is, you may take your tests with me, in my office (by appointment), you may take the exams at the TSUM Learning Resource Center (make appointments by calling 334-241-9530) or you may get an approved proctor to give your test. This last method is far more complicated... and time-consuming... than simply asking someone to give you the exam, so if you are considering this option, you must contact your me, or e-mail Dr. Jim Macey at [email protected] directly, ASAP, for necessary instructions. Note: If you contact Dr. Macey, make sure to tell him you are an online student.
Assignments and class participation projects may be sent to me using any of the four contact methods listed above.

Deadlines:
Class Participation involves use of the bulletin board. Each week, an open-ended question is given to the students. Each student is expected to answer, as best as possible, using the bulletin board. Deadline for each question is the Friday following the question. Grading on this part is simple: I divide the number of each student's total responses (one per question is required) by number of questions, then multiply by 100. This is the grade for participation.
Assignments and Tests must be completed by quarter's end. It is recommended, though not required, that you complete each test after four to five weeks of study and self-testing using the end-of-objectives self-quizzes. The quizzes are randomly generated, so you may take them as often as you desire.
It is not uncommon for questions to arise. Feel free to contact me for help, when needed.
