Unspoken Words
I wish I could tell you all the things I want to say.
You made my life enjoyable
with your laughter and your gentle smile.
I wish I could see that smile again.

I wish I could tell you that I love you,
and to hear your response echoing in my ears.
You never said that you felt the same; at least, not to me.
I wish I could hear your words again.

I wish I could tell you I miss your company.
We were the best of friends.  You shared your secrets with me...
and your deepest fears.  You were always there for me.
I wish I could be with you now.

I wish I could tell you all the hurt I feel inside.
You left so quickly and did not tell me goodbye.
I thought we would have forever.  I am now left with only memories
of wishes and unspoken words that I never will say.

Evan, I wish I could tell you all these things in person,
but this poem will have to speak where I cannot.
I hope to see you again someday...
in Heaven.
