Armageddon:
The Final Battles Of Earth

The song playing is Les Miserables Medley from Les Miserables.

Prelude 1

The year was 2035, and the Earth vastly changed by the advances in the science of technology.  With the lust for power and money, easily obtained through the new technological advances made daily, people had become greedier than then they had ever been before.  The earth burned up more energy than what the resources allowed.        Faster air vehicles burned up more fuel than the earlier models.  The metropolises were polluted beyond repair.  Petroleum and other natural resources disappeared, with only the destructive capabilities of nuclear generated power to run the world's electronic toys.  Times had changed for good.

As technology fell by the wayside, so did the politics of the world.  People no longer relied on the oil producing nations to supply them with their fuels.  Economies of once-powerful nations crumbled under the weight of their own spending.  Stock markets crashed, and billionaires became penniless in mere seconds.  Banks stopped business all together as people took their money and hid it in their home or their property.  Jobs were lost all across the globe.  The new technology was now useless without the money to finance the research into better means of technology and medicines, and consumers didn't have the money to buy the new gadgets and gizmos anymore.

Governments were overthrown all over the world.  Everybody thought that they could do better than the last person in office. Presidents and Kings were shot by their own arsenal of weapons as others took over.  Around the world, Anarchy steadily became the official form of "government".  Their motto was survival of the fittest.

But, the economies kept getting worse and worse.  Bread and water cost more than a steak would have cost ten years earlier.  The peasants fought with each other over who was the leader of a certain region.  Monarchy began to take over during the next years.  In turn, wars broke out against neighboring kingdoms over land and resources.  Two in particular were the kingdoms of Dantucket and Abriania.  Little did they know it at the time, but the Great Wars started because of their feud.

Queen Daphnie of Dantucket fell in love with a peasant farmer from Abriania.  But, their people did not agree upon anything, especially the marriage of the Queen and the peasant.  Civil uprisings began, and the royal palace was taken over.  In the battle,               Daphnie's husband, Nickolas, was murdered.  Daphnie, grief-stricken over her beloved's death, committed suicide.  She threw herself out of the tower window and into the raging waters of the ocean below.

The people of Abriania heard about the death of their fellow kinsman, Nickolas, and attacked Dantucket.  The Wars had started. Fires of rage burned in men's souls and eyes as the fighting continued and spread like wildfire.  Guns could not be manufactured, so swords were used in their place in the armies.  The world had regressed back to medieval times.  This was the year 2078.

During this time, power was everything to a kingdom.  But, so were the strange and the mystical.  Not showing their true selves in society before, they came out of hiding.  They, before, were afraid to been seen for what they really were.  For, if society knew them for what they really were, they would have been hunted down and murdered without questions asked.  So, being misunderstood and blown out of proportion by the untrue tales, they waited for the right time to show themselves and their powers.  Seeing how their kind had been treated at Salem and throughout Europe, they practiced their rites in silence and secrecy.

These are the vampyres, sorcerers, and faeries.  But, their kind of power and leadership was needed now.  One by one, they arose out of the shadows of time.  Finally, in the great chaos that surrounded the Earth, they were accepted.  Leading their people and kingdoms, these beings ruled the world as they did once so long ago.  The time of the Great Wars, so prophesized before, had come.  The Wars that would lead to Armageddon.

A decade later, a daughter was born to a noble family in Abriania.  As she grew, a betrothal was arranged for her and a neighboring boy of another noble family nearby.  The two families rejoiced as their children grew up together, in love.  But, as the Wars continued, their dreams of marriage were suspended in time.  Vincent was drafted into the military. The night before Vincent left, he promised Kairos that, upon his return, they would be married.  The next morning, when Kairos awoke, Vincent was gone.  A note lay upon the pillow next to her.

As Kairos read it, tears formed in her eyes.  Vincent had left for the Wars, but behind him he left his pledge of undying love to her.  Many years went by as Kairos awaited his return.  Finally, a letter came.  Vincent was returning to Abriania.
