Scenario

You are to design a web site of at least four pages.

You will discuss with your tutor the purpose of the web site. It can be a personal web site containing things which interest you, or it can be a ficticious retail site where you are offering a product or service, or it can be a site promoting an (imaginary) organisation.

Your site must contain text which is formatted into appropriate headings, sub-headings and different colours and fonts.

Your site must have at least two different backgrounds used for pages.

Your site must contain at least four images and one or more audio or video clips.

Your site must contain at least four links within the site to enhance the value of the pages through more efficient access to the contents of your pages.

Your site must contain at least two links to RELATED sites elsewhere on the web.

Tasks

  • You will submit a brief description of the purpose and content of the site along with a sketch of the site (you can use Paint) and how it is to be laid out. How?

  • You will set up a directory in your user area to contain all your web page files

  • You will use Notepad to generate an html file for each of your pages.

  • You will print out each of your html files in both text and browser formats.

  • You will submit a brief description of how you put together your web pages, detailing how and why each item was added.

  • You will print out your directory showing that it contains all your html, audio/video and image files.

  • You will upload your files to the your First Class Home Page directory and test your links.

  • You will get a brief testimonial from another user regarding the efficacy of the links.
