Reading A Message
If your MailBox icon shows a red flag beside it, then it contains unread items.
- To read these items:
- Double-click the MailBox icon.
- The top pane of the MailBox window contains any folders you have created to help organize your mailbox.
- The lower pane contains a list of messages sent to you, and any messages you have composed.
- For each message, the list displays the name of the sender or recipient, size, subject, and date that the message was composed or received. Unread messages have red flags beside them.
- Double-click the message you want to read.
- The message opens in a new window.
- To see messages in any folder in your mailbox, double-click the folder.
- The folder contents are listed in a new window.
Moving an Email Message to Another Folder
- The message must be closed.
- Highlight the message by clicking on it once.
- Use the left mouse button to drag the message to the folder.
- You will notice that the mouse pointer becomes an arrow with a small box attached. That box is your message.
- Let go of the mouse button over the folder.
- The message will now be in the folder.
- You can check by opening the folder and seeing if it is there.
Saving Email Messages To A Disk
- Open the message.
- Insert your floppy disk in the A drive of your computer.
- Go up to File on the menu bar.
- Scroll down to Save as Text.
- A Save As window will open.
- In the Filename box type A: (A colon) followed by the filename.
- Click the Save button.
- The message will be saved as a text file on your floppy disk.
- You can look at the file by opening the floppy disk icon on your desktop to display the directory.
- Double click on the filename.
- An Open With dialogue window may open.
- From this choose Notepad.
- Your message will be displayed as a text message.
Deleting Messages From First Class
- Choose the message to be deleted
- Click on it once and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- You will be asked if you are sure you want to delete it.
Printing Messages
- Open your message
- Go to File on the menu bar
- Scroll down to Print
- A Print dialogue window will open
- Click OK
