To put it in extremely mild words, its a real shame that Spring Garden is not still around. The huge void for hands-on technical people (real engineers) that stems fr m Spring Garden's absence has increasingly become evident. Over the years I've worked with many other engineers with educations from prestigious engineering schools (Lehigh, Penn State, U of P, Purdue, U. of Mich.) and they don't have anything on us, some have even admitted that SGC students received a better edu ation. After graduation, I worked as a manufacturing engineer and eventually became director of quality engineering until 1998 where I'm became and still am co-owner of a full-service marina in Maryland. It wasn't the technical problems that were difficult to s lve in corporate life, but dealing with the buearacracies created by management. Now my job is just about all management but I deal with the beauracracy I created!!! No way could I have gone so far without my education. I do miss the techinical side of things though and maybe some day, I'll be back. Best Regards to all! |

I am very proud to be an alumni from SGC. I am a registered architect in Maryland and Delaware. I have been registered since 1991. I have worked with many other architects from very noteworthy schools, and I can say, "they have nothing on this old SGC alumni". I recieved a very good education and it has served me well. I would like to hear from some of my classmates from those early 80's days. We were a small ut close group for the 5 years, and I miss the days of fun we used to have. Hope to hear from someone soon. |
