Natural Ice, aka Natty Ice:

The true nectar of the gods! Just the smell of this beer brings memories of steambath like bar rooms, smoked filled air, and endless games of beirut. This is the beer I was first truly exposed to. It still has a special place in my heart. I admitt I'm biased, but cheap beer just doesn't get any better than good old natty ice!

As far as properties go the beer is a deep amber lager. As with all ice beers it is chilled to the freezeing point after brewing and the ice is skimmed off the top. Since only water is removed, the beer becomes more concentrated, increasing both the flavor and alcohol content.

Natural Ice has a bold, sometimes overpowering taste. The first few gulps have a definite bite to them. One easy way to get around this is to take extremely long drinks, as the bite only hits once you swallow. After the first few cans however the 5.9% by volume alcohol content takes the edge off the flavor. The beer actually has a slight cheese taste to it. Cold it smells much like Bass Ale, warm it has a rather unpleasent creamed corn aroma. But hey what do you want for $5.99-$7.99 a case?
