Yumiko Igarashi likes comics very much since she was a child. When she was studying, she took a (half year) comic course and then started drawing comics. When she was in Senior 2, she decided to be a comic author; she also want to study in Tokyo and send her comics to publishers. A short time after she was promoted to Senior 3, her "Island of White Shark" was printed on the "Ribbon" monthly magazine, and her comics were sent to other publishers. The "Candy Candy" won the first ??? comic price in 1975. Later, the "Georgie" was very hit and was made into anime.
Her style has changed over the recent years, changing from young lady comics to a bit mature lady comics. Her first fiction "Only Yau Bo" borned in 1989. Now she is busy with drawing historical comics.
