EGYPTIAN ACTIVITIES

The
following Ancient Egyptian lessons and activities comply with the North
Carolina Standard Course of Study for Grade 7 across the curriculum. The
Science Curriculum Goals and Objectives for the following lessons and activities
are as follows: Goal 1-The
learner will develop an understanding of the nature of science. Goal
2-The learner will develop the ability to
use science process skills. Goal 3-The
learner will develop the ability to use science manipulative skills. Goal
4-The learner will develop a positive attitude
toward science. Goal 5-The
learner will have an understanding of the relevance of current topics in
science. Goal 6-The learner will construct an understanding of science
through systems and diversity. |

The
list and assignments may be printed out. Students should handwrite the
assignments and turn in as homework at your specified time. |

Students
do go out on the net and send their name to be transcribed into hieroglyphs.
This is a great chance for them to see the actual cartouche, then they
can duplicate it! |

Have
materials available for students. This makes a good station to work at
or students can take it back to their seats. |

Have
plenty of triangles precut and markers ready. Students should have many
books to from which to choose their facts. This is also a good station
or something the students can do at their seats. |

You
might want to use an overhead projector and outline some of the gods/goddesses
for the students to color. In advance, you might want to have the students
start bringing in paper bags. |

This
search is 'locked-in'. The students will not be going on the Internet. |
