Correlation to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study - 7th grade ScienceGoal 2: The learner will develop the ability to use science process skills; Goal 4: The learner will develop a positive attitude toward science; Goal 5: The learner will have an understanding of the relevance of current topics in science (technology). Pyramid Puzzle Activity This activity Utilizes computer skills and internet resources in gathering, organizing and presenting information through cooperative learning groups or activities. What would an Egyptian pyramid cost to build today? During this activity, students will be asked to estimate the cost of building a pyramid using modern materials and ancient methods. In teams, students will plan, collect data, submit a bid for the job (only the lowest bidding company will be awarded the job), create a scale drawing and model, and present a final report to the class. Students will need to use all of their knowledge learned this year in math, science, and social studies to complete this project. Finally, the results will be included in a World Wide Web page about the project! Students will be trained to utilize e-mail and other Internet research techniques and tools. Vital Information
