The Muslim Students' Association (MSA) of Bighamton University (The State University of New York at Binghamton) is a cultural student organization which strives to help educate the campus community about the religion of Islam as a complete way of life, attempting to dispel myths and misconceptions, providing information, insight and general knowledge about Islam, Muslims and the Muslim World. The MSA also serves the Muslims in the campus and surrounding community by providing support programs and activites to assist the Muslim student in practicing his or her faith as fully as possible.
The MSA sponsors various activites ranging from weekly general meetings, Juma'h Prayers, weekly information/Da'wah (outreach) tabling, lectures, trips, banquets, conferences, as well as specialized activites during Ramadhan and other special occasions. The MSA holds a an annual Islam Awareness Week consisting of various seminars, lectures, exhibits and a concluding event (usually a banquet). The MSA also takes part in regional, zonal, and national MSA activites. Membership in the MSA is open to all students, regardless or religion, race, creed, color, or gender. The MSA is chartered through the Student Association of Binghamton University and is an affiliate of the Muslim Students' Assocation of the United States and Canada.
